Cupid Strikes Again.....

This time Cupid is aiming for Sherry. Her package left Tennessee today. So, enjoy your Valentine peak! I have really had fun working on all of my swaps.

Now, I must switch gears to sewing for the next couple of days. I have signed up for 2 different apron swaps. Since my partners don't know my identity, I will share the fabrics. The first apron will have several patterns for a pretty pink Valentine apron and the second one will be made with pink and green Amy Butler fabrics.

So, now it is off to the sewing machine for me!

Have a Happy Day,

Kana

Ramblings about a photograph...

This postcard arrived in the mail to remind us of Spiritual Emphasis week at my children's school. I read the schedule of speakers on the back and was about to recycle the postcard, when I turned it over and something caught my eye. I thought the hats looked familiar and then I realized that this is the staircase leading from the garage into the back door of my house. I had no knowledge that this photo existed. When my daughter arrived home from school, she informed me that she had taken this photo in her photography class. It is one of her favorite photos and unbeknownest to her, it was selected for this year's Spriritual Emphasis posters and post cards!! What an honor for Macy. She is becoming quite the photographer.
Hope you are having a restful Sunday,
Kana

Valentine sneak peak......

...this is for Stefanie. I packed a box for her and sent it to Germany today. That seems so far from here in Tennessee and I hope it arrives safely to her. I have been busy cutting, gluing, glittering and fluffing many things for all of my swap partners and now I am working on finishing Sherry's Valentine goodies. Details soon for Sherry!
Have a great weekend,

One little word

Hello bloggers!! I was locked out of my blog and now happy to return. I have been thinking about my "one little powerful word" for 2009, the idea from Ali at http://www.aliedwards.typepad.com. My word is "FRUITFUL". I don't know about everyone else, but I could use a little more love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in my life! So, I will try to focus on fruitful this year.

Happy Wednesday,

Kana

Up with the new and down with the old

I love this calendar set from Jenni at http://www.jennibowlin.com/! I purchased the 2008 version and displayed it on the side of my refrigerator all year long. I used both current and older pictures of my children and really enjoyed scrapping the monthly pictures. Now I have a small scrapbook of the months to cherish forever. Lucky for me, Jenni created a similar version for 2009 and I plan to do the same thing with it. Signing off and good night......

Happy New Year and welcome to blog land

After months of reading and viewing many wonderful blogs, I have finally started my own. I love all of the creative people, beautiful photos and ideas in blog land. I have participated in several swaps and have enjoyed all of the pretty sites on the blogs of my hostesses, Heidi at http://www.foxglovesfabricandfolly.blogspot.com, and Jennifer at http://www.roseylittlethings.blogspot.com. From their blogs, I have linked to many others and well, we all know the fun things we can see. Much inspiration also comes from Teresa at http://www.teresamcfayden.typepad.com, and her blog links to many, many creative Bellas in blog land! Thanks to my friend Rachel at http://www.onmybackporch.blogspot.com, for all of her blog advice, instruction and encouragement.

So, thus starts my journey. I wish everyone a very Happy New Year!
